Known as far back as the early 1800s as the "Osteria", typical meeting place
of the time where, as well as a good glass of wine and a plate of excellent dressed
pork meats, taken from the ancient cellars that still exist today, you could get
a game of bowls; a meeting place for travellers, merchants and farmers.
Tradition or legend has it that it belonged to the great, illustrious Nicolò
Paganini, from where it took its name of the "Osteria di Paganini". Time changes
habits though, and in this case the name changed yet again, to become the "Trattoria
La Pace".
Today, and for the past twelve years, it has gone by the name of the "Trattoria
Antichi Sapori", making its mark in time as a place where traditional and modern
specialities are served, the result of the passionate creativity and meticulous
research into "sapori antichi", "old world flavours", partly drawn from and handed
down to the owner, Davide Censi, by his grandmother and later by his mother.
The particular and sensitive selection of the wide range of specialities of Parma
cuisine have guaranteed the restaurant a constant presence among the recommendations
of the specialist and tourist press. It has often been featured in programmes
on national television.
